At Transcript, we’re used to handling high volumes of corporate communications and delivering against tight deadlines. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the rapidly evolving situation and changing public health guidelines forced businesses to adapt quickly. One of our clients, for instance, saw the need to make regular announcements to bring all of its employees up to speed with the latest updates and recommendations.
With tens of thousands of employees to reach, the company’s Corporate and Public Affairs team decided to publish a weekly COVID-19 newsletter. The team would draft the content on Tuesday or Wednesday, and we would start translating it right away so that the newsletter could be published first thing Thursday morning. What’s more, the copywriters would often make last-minute changes and ask us to update the translation accordingly.
Considering what the new project involved, we agreed that the best approach was to have the same person translate each weekly newsletter to ensure consistency in tone and language. We also made sure the team working the evening shift had a good understanding of the project so they could deal with any updates that came in after regular office hours.
Our client was very pleased with the way we handled things and, even though the worst of the pandemic is behind us, the company continues to publish the weekly newsletter to keep its staff updated on various issues.
